GSC received an updated report from the ITG consultant and was pleased that the business and IT goals had been clarified and that a good IT mission statement had been developed. On the negative side, it was also reported that some IT support policies were not being followed. Some high-priority projects were not being properly escalated. In addition, there were still some minor incidents of compromised client data. In light of the updated organizational and IT goals, the ITG consultant determined that the next step was a thorough evaluation and update of policies that would help enforce the IT goals and new mission statement.

Assignment

Continue development of the IT Governance Policies and Procedures Manual for your target organization. New content will include IT Support Policies.

IT support is critical in any organization to maintain systems and to provide help to users of those systems. Although the specific operations of the IT department are handled by the IT management group, the policies and procedures that guide the IT department are found in the IT Governance Policies and Procedures Manual.

The following tasks are to be completed before adding the new content for Week 3:

· Update the IT Governance Policies and Procedures Manual title page with a new date and project name.

· Update the previously completed sections based on your instructor’s feedback.

Week 3: IT Support Policies

For this assignment, you will create the IT Support Policies section of your manual for your selected organization. The support policies should address incident management, support prioritization, and escalation.

· List and describe the major policies that are necessary to govern the IT support for your organization

· Policies should include, at a minimum, incident management, support prioritization, and escalation.

· Additional policies should be included as deemed necessary to create a robust IT support policy.

· Be sure to update your table of contents before submission.

· Name the document “yourname_IT644_IP3.doc.”
